Monitoring and Baiting Systems for Termite Prevention
Monitoring and baiting systems offer a proactive, eco-friendly solution for termite prevention. These systems involve placing discreet bait stations around the perimeter of your property in strategic locations where termites are likely to forage. Two types of stations are available: monitoring stations, which are checked regularly for termite presence, and baiting stations, which contain a slow-acting bait from the start.
Monitoring Stations: These stations hold wooden rods that are regularly checked for termite activity. If termites are detected the bait is added, beginning the colony elimination process.
Baiting Stations: These pre-filled stations contain a termiticide bait that termites start feeding on as soon as they enter. The bait's slow-acting formula ensures that termites have time to return to their colony, where they spread the treatment to other termites, gradually impacting the entire population.
This system allows Surekill to control termite populations without excessive use of chemicals making it an effective and environmentally conscious choice. Surekill's qualified technicians set up and maintain these systems with care, conducting quarterly inspections to ensure any signs of termites are addressed early. We also recommend an annual property-wide inspection to monitor for any new activity.
With regularly monitoring, a baiting system offers a reliable and cost-effective way to keep your property protected against potential termite threats.
02.2
Chemical Barrier Treatments
A chemical barrier is an effective preventative measure for keeping termites away from your property. This involves creating a treated zone around the footings by trenching or drilling, then applying a termiticide solution to the soil according to Australian Standards and product label guidelines. This treated zone forms a protective barrier, either deterring termites from crossing or eliminating those that come into contact. Surekill offers two types of chemical barriers:
Repellent Chemical Barriers: These barriers use chemicals that termites can detect, creating a boundary that they avoid. While termites steer clear of the treated zone, they may still search for food sources beyond it. This method is ideal for redirecting termite activity away from your property, keeping them at a distance.
Non-Repellent Chemical Barriers: Non-repellent chemicals are undetectable to by termites, so when they unknowingly come into contact with the treatment, it can be spread back to the colony, ultimately targeting the entire nest. This method is beneficial for colony control, particularly when termites are detected nearby.
Both repellent and non-repellent systems are highly effective for termite prevention, and the choice depends on your property's specific needs Surekill's experienced technicians will assess and recommend the best option to suit your location and structure. To maintain the effectiveness of the treated zone, we recommend a minimum of yearly inspections to ensure it remains intact and to check for any new termite activity.
02.5
Reticulation System
A reticulation system offers an advanced, long-term solution for termite prevention, providing effective protection for existing properties. This system involves a network of underground pipes installed around the perimeter of the home. Through these pipes, liquid termiticide can be distributed directly into the soil, forming a continuous treated zone that blocks termites from accessing your property.
One of the primary benefits of a reticulation system is its convenience: one installed, it can be easily refilled with termiticide every two years, ensuring ongoing protection without the need for repeated digging or ground disruption. this targeted approach allows termiticide to be precisely applied around areas most vulnerable to termite entry, such as footings and slab edges.
Reticulation systems are low-maintenance and cost-effective, providing reliable termite prevention when combined with annual inspections. This method also reduces the volume of termiticide needed over time, as it directs chemicals only where necessary, while fully adhering to Australian Standards.

Preparing for Treatment
Ahead of your scheduled treatment, you'll receive guidance on any preparations needed to ensure treatment is as effective as possible. This includes clearing areas around the perimeter, ensuring technicians have access to both inside and outside areas, and securing pets to prevent exposure.

What to expect on Treatment Day
Treatment Overview
On the day of treatment, our Surekill technician will arrive fully equipped and prepared to carry out the process efficiently and safely. Here's a step-by-step outline of what will happen:
-
Initial Walkthrough and Set up - The technician will conduct a walkthrough of your property to confirm the treatment areas and discuss any last-minute questions or concerns you might have. They will also set up any necessary equipment and prepare the materials for application.
-
Property Preparation and Safety Measures - Before applying any chemicals, the technician will take precautions to ensure safety. This includes protecting any plants, pets, and sensitive areas around the home to avoid unintentional exposure to termiticides.
-
Treatment Application - Depending on your chosen treatment; whether a comical barrier, reticulation system or baiting stations; the technician will proceed with installation or application. For chemcial barriers, this involves trenching and/or drilling around the home's perimeter to apply termiticide directly into the soil. For baiting systems, stations will be strategically place and/or refilled where necessary. For reticulation systems, termiticide will be injected into the pre-installed pipes.
-
Quality Check and Final Review - After completing the application, the technician will review the treated zones to ensure thorough and proper setup. They will check for every application and confirm all safety measures are in place before finishing.
-
Post-Treatment Guidance - Once the treatment is complete, the technician will provide you with specific guidance on any temporary restrictions, such as avoiding contact with treated soil areas for a specified period. You'll receive a summary of the treatment details, including any follow-up services, refills, or inspections recommended to maintain termite prevention.
-
Final Walkthrough and Questions - Before leaving, the technician will walk through the property with you one last time to address any questions. They will also remind you about the importance of regular inspections and provide information on booking these checkups to ensure the treatment remains effective.
Our Surekill team is committed to ensuring you feel informed and reassured throughout the process. With regular inspections, your termite protection will remain effective and give lasting peace of mind.
Payment Options
Payment is required at the start of the treatment, unless arranged otherwise. We accept cash, credit and EFTPOS.

Post-Treatment Care
After your termite prevention treatment, our Surekill technician will provide you with a tailored Pest Management Plan. This plan details the recommended follow-up actions to keep your property protected, including the following:
-
Monitoring Stations - Inspections are scheduled quarterly if no termite activity is present. If termites are detected, the technician will advise on the frequency of bait replenishment needed to ensure effective control.
-
Chemical Barriers - Reapplication is recommended every five years to maintain the treated zone's integrity and effectiveness.
-
Reticulation System - These systems require a termiticide refill every two years to preserve a consistent chemical barrier around the property.
-
Annual Inspections - An essential step for all properties, annual inspections help to catch early signs of termites or vulnerabilities. Homes in higher-risk areas may benefit from more frequent checks.
To ensure uninterrupted termite prevention, we'll send you reminders when your next inspection or treatment is due. This proactive approach helps safeguard your home, keeping it termite-free and protected for the long term.
