German Cockroach Treatment

Are German Cockroaches Infesting Your Home or Business?

German cockroaches are one of the most difficult cockroach species to control. They breed rapidly, hide deep within cracks and appliances, and are not eliminated by surface sprays or DIY treatments. These cockroaches contaminate food and surfaces and are commonly found in kitchens, bathrooms, cafes, restaurants and other commercial environments.

Surekill Pest Control provides professional German cockroach inspections and targeted treatments for residential and commercial properties. Our licensed technicians identify harbourage areas, nesting sites and breeding sources, then apply precise treatment methods designed to eliminate German Cockroaches at all life stages.

By treating the infestation at its source, not just the visible cockroaches, our approach helps prevent ongoing activity and reduces the risk of reinfestation.

Treatment Process

Discuss your German Cockroach Problem

Upon arrival your Surekill Technician will take time to understand your German Cockroach issue, inspect the affected areas and formulate a targeted action plan that suits your needs. They will also conduct an Environmental Inspection Report, as required by the EPA. Then begin the treatment.

Targeted Application

At Surekill Pest Control, we take a thorough and targeted approach to testing German Cockroach infestations. Our technicians utilise a combination of professional-grade gels, dusts, and sprays to ensure maximum effectiveness. Each product is strategically applied in key areas to eradicate cockroaches where they live, breed, and hide.

  • Gel Application - Gel is applied inside cupboards, around appliances, and in areas where German Cockroaches are active. This gel attracts cockroaches, which then return to their nests, spreading the treatment and causing a 'viral' effect to eliminate the colony.

  • Dusting Around Appliances - A light, odourless dust is applied under fridges, dishwashers, and in cracks and crevices. This dust can withstand heat and is long-lasting.

  • Spraying - Our Technician will spray inside your home, targeting areas like skirting boards and kickboards in the kitchen where cockroaches are commonly found.

After Treatment

Pest Management Plan

Our Surekill Technician will discuss your Pest Management Plan, including when to schedule your next treatment. You will receive a renewal reminder by email or text when your next service is due.

Let your Technician know if there are any other pests or concerns you'd like addressed during their visit, and they will incorporate these into your Pest Management Plan.

Dead Cockroaches

Following Treatment, you may notice slow-moving or dead cockroaches as the treatment takes effect. To prevent them from becoming food for other cockroaches, dispose of them promptly.

Kitchen and Cupboard Care

Do not clean cupboards until cockroach activity ceases, which typically takes around 21 days. You can wipe down benches and clean floors once the treatment has dried-usually about 2 hours after application. Avoid contact with treated surfaces until they have fully dried.

How to Keep German Cockroaches Away

Eliminate Food Sources

Store all food in sealed containers, avoid leaving pet food out overnight, and clean benches, cupboards, and appliances regularly - especially in kitchens and laundries.

Reduce Moisture

Fix leaking taps, pipes and appliances. German cockroaches are highly attracted to moisture, particularly around sinks, dishwashers and fridges.

Keep Areas Clean and Uncluttered

Regularly vacuum and wipe down cupboards, drawers, and hard-to-reach areas. Reduce clutter where cockroaches can hide and breed.

Seal Entry Points

Seal cracks and gaps around walls, skirting boards, cupboards and plumbing penetrations to limit harbourage and entry points.

Dispose of Rubbish Properly

Use bins with tight-fitting lids and empty them regularly. Rinse food containers before disposal to remove residue.

Avoid Bringing Them Inside

Inspect groceries, cardboard boxes and second-hand appliances before bringing them into your home - German Cockroaches often hitchhike.
