How Monitoring Works
Monitoring is the first line of defense against termites. Our termite monitoring stations are strategically place around your property to detect early signs of termite activity before the infestation can take hold. These stations contain materials that attract termites and allow us to closely monitor any activity.
When termites encounter the stations, they leave signs of their presence, which our technicians can identify during routine inspections. This early detection allows us to act quickly, preventing the termites from spreading to your home or structure and minimising potential damage.
03
The Termite Baiting Process
When termites are detected, we move to the baiting phase. In monitoring stations with timbers showing signs of termite feeding, a bait is added and stations are replenished as needed. Bait stations are strategically placed in active areas where terms are likely to continue feeding.
The bait contains an ingredient termites find highly appealing but it disrupts their growth and survival. As termites feed on the bait, they unknowingly carry it back tot he colony, sharing it with others. The slow-acting nature of the bait ensures it spreads widely throughout the colony, eventually reaching and impacting the queen and essential colony members. This method not only targets termites at the source but also eradicates the entire colony over time.
There are two types of stations on the market they include the Exterra System and the Sentricon Always Active System.

Sentricon Always Active
The Sentricon Always Active System is a highly effective and eco-friendly solution for termite protection. It operates by strategically placing bait stations around the perimeter of your property. These stations contain a food source that attracts termites, which they food on and then share with their colony. This process leads to the gradual elimination of the colony, including the queen. The system doesn't require any other treatment methods to be effective, making it a self-contained solution.
One of the standout features of the Always Active technology is that it works continuously, even if termites are not immediately present. The stations remain active and can detect termites as they begin to forage. Once termites find the stations, they start feeding on the bait, which leads to the colony's demise. The system is checked once a year, though the Technician may visit more frequently depending on your location and level of termite activity.
The Sentricon system is discreet and non-invasive. It can be safely placed around your home without disrupting your lifestyle, and it is safe for gardens, as the active ingredient is not systemic and poses little risk of affecting plants.
